Love Alone

My hand feels cold where yours once held, empty as I let it fall by to side.
Staring into space as I watch you pace away, almost expecting you to spin
around and hold me in your arms once more. I still need you, but know that
you have chosen the next path I must take.

It hurts.

I still think about how my name seemed to glide from your mouth effortlessly
and how your voice was like a lullaby to me. Whenever you were by my side, it
couldn't concentrate on anything else.

I gave you everything I had to offer and thought you understood my heart.
Looking back I feel as if I've created an illusion, but everything seems so
clear. I'm baffled on how drastically things have changed between us in such
a short time.

I miss the warmth of your arms wrapped around me, they way you used to look
into my eyes and tell me I was the one.

You said that you'd never leave my side but now I'm sitting here, in love alone.
